By The Same Token: Scale lives above the lending book

VALTS turns private credit into a packaging business
Victory Park put a Stellar feeder above AltsABF, giving Tradable a structure it can reproduce without rebuilding underwriting or servicing.
Victory Park Capital has launched VALTS, a Stellar-based tokenized feeder into its existing AltsABF interval fund. The investment process is the product’s significance: tokenized private credit can scale through compliant wrappers around conventional funds, rather than through lending strategies originated and administered onchain.
VALTS changes the distribution object an investor can hold. The asset-backed credit, manager and portfolio terms stay where they were.
What the token changes
VALTS is the AltsABF Tokenized Feeder Fund. It gives US investors tokenized access to the Privacore VPC Asset Backed Credit Fund, or AltsABF, a continuously offered, non-listed, closed-end interval fund focused on private asset-backed credit. The underlying vehicle launched in January 2026.
The sequence defines the product. Victory Park and Privacore first created AltsABF as the portfolio vehicle. VALTS was then placed above it as another route for eligible investors to obtain exposure.
The feeder separates the investor-facing claim from the lending book. Victory Park still manages the asset-backed credit. A VALTS token represents an interest at the feeder level instead of a loan-level claim against borrowers.
This path requires less institutional coordination than originating loans through smart contracts, recording collateral directly onchain or distributing principal and interest atomically to token holders. Those designs ask borrowers, lenders, servicers, custodians and legal agents to adopt a new operating system together. A feeder asks fewer parties to move. The asset manager continues investing as before; the tokenization provider packages access.
Tradable CEO Alex Cordover described that division of labor directly: “We founded Tradable to help leading asset managers bring private investment opportunities on-chain without changing how they invest.”
Victory Park’s history with Tradable supports the model. The firms first partnered in 2023, when VPC supported development of Tradable’s platform. Tradable now says it has tokenized $3 billion of private credit. The supplied reports provide no breakdown of how much remains outstanding, how many investors hold those tokens or what share has moved between wallets. Still, the cumulative figure points toward a repeatable business: issuing more tokenized interests over portfolios managed elsewhere.
VALTS will initially be available on Stellar. Token issuance and ownership records therefore sit on a blockchain, while the lending book remains inside AltsABF. The fund retains its own valuation, repurchase and liquidity processes. Blockchain hours and portfolio liquidity run on separate clocks.
The reports do not disclose VALTS’s payment rail, custodian, transfer agent or wallet restrictions. They also leave open whether distributions will settle in bank money, stablecoins or another asset. Those details determine whether Stellar functions as a settlement rail for subscriptions and distributions or primarily as the register for a restricted fund interest.
Interval funds can offer periodic repurchases while holding assets that would be difficult to sell every day at observable prices. Token transferability may make an investor claim easier to record or integrate with another system. It does not create a daily bid for the loans or compel the underlying vehicle to redeem on demand.
Public-chain settlement can shorten the administrative movement of an eligible interest. It cannot make a private borrower repay early.
Did VALTS find a new buyer?
VALTS becomes economically meaningful if it reaches investors or operating systems that the conventional subscription channel could not serve efficiently. Otherwise, existing investors receive a different record of ownership while Victory Park’s distribution remains essentially unchanged.
An investor may prefer an asset that can sit in a blockchain wallet, appear in an onchain portfolio system or interact with tokenized collateral and reporting infrastructure. An adviser or platform may find it cheaper to distribute standardized tokens than to integrate separately with every private-fund administrator. Victory Park gains another shelf for the same portfolio, and Tradable supplies the tokenization layer rather than underwriting the credit.
The resulting economics are straightforward. Additional subscriptions through VALTS become managed assets for Victory Park. Tradable sits between the investor’s wallet and the fund structure by operating the access layer.
A permissioned token confined to approved holders can still reduce onboarding duplication, automate transfer checks and connect funds to digital-asset operating systems. Restricted transferability also means a continuously visible onchain balance should not be confused with readily available secondary liquidity. The ledger may operate around the clock while eligible buyers remain scarce.
Evidence of incremental distribution would make the commercial case. Investors subscribing through wallet-native platforms, approved secondary transfers, collateral use and meaningful commitments from buyers who could not efficiently access AltsABF before would show that VALTS opened a distinct channel. A new token held mainly by existing fund investors would support the narrower conclusion: Tradable improved the ownership record without materially expanding the buyer base.
Loan-level transformation would require a different set of evidence—borrowers receiving proceeds onchain, collateral records integrated with the token, servicing data updating investor claims, or principal and interest settling atomically through the same system. VALTS supplies no such evidence yet.
VALTS’s advantage is replication: Tradable can add another compliant entrance to AltsABF long before anyone rebuilds the loans themselves.
What I'd watch
- Any first disclosure of VALTS subscriptions, investor count, minimum commitment or assets transferred into AltsABF. A launch balance alone would be less informative than the source of those investors.
- Details on eligible wallets, secondary transfers, custody, payment assets and repurchase processing. These will show whether Stellar is an investor-facing settlement rail or principally the register for a restricted feeder interest.
- The underlying fund’s materials could reveal whether the tokenized channel changed portfolio inflows while preserving AltsABF’s existing liquidity terms. Evidence that VALTS holders use the interest in collateral or wallet-native workflows would make this wrapper economically distinct.
